PACFA Online Therapies Course Sept

How to provide counselling and psychotherapy using online technologies

Description

PACFA’s Code of Ethics 2017 highlights the importance of providing online therapy services in an ethical manner. As Practitioners increasingly move towards delivering counselling or psychotherapy using online technologies, it is important that they undertake professional development to ensure that they are not only competent to work in this manner but also have training in how to transfer their skills already at use in the therapy room to an online environment.

Major learning outcomes:
– Understanding the practical aspects of technology in the online environment, within the therapeutic space and within a therapeutic process.
– Experience in testing online practice options against the PACFA Ethics Code.
– A process to support making individual decisions as a professional in regard to the offering of online therapeutic services and what adjustments are required, using as a benchmark existing face to face environments and processes.

Participants will be asked to undertake compulsory reflective questions in order to solidify the learning outcomes and to successfully complete the course. Participants will also need to attend a minimum of 3 out of 4 sessions.

*Attendance at Session 1 is Mandatory. If you cannot attend Session 1 you will need to book into a later Course.*
