PACFA Queensland Branch Workshop September

How to Recognise, Assess and Treat Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are often left undiagnosed or diagnosis comes too late, when the likelihood of recovery becomes more difficult. By learning to recognise, assess and treat eating disorders in the early stages, we can improve outcomes and help people to avoid a lifelong barrier to good physical and mental health.

When does disordered eating become an eating disorder? Is dieting a good or bad idea? What is normal and abnormal eating? Which eating disorder is the most common?

This workshop will answer all these questions and give you practical treatment ideas that you can start to use immediately with your clients.

Presenter: Kyla Holley

Kyla is the Director of the Australian Centre for Eating Disorders (ACFED) and a Master Practitioner in evidence-based treatments for sufferers of Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, Orthorexia and OSFED. She also has extensive knowledge and experience specifically related to metabolic surgery and is a member of two multidisciplinary clinical teams in addition to working in private practice and is a member of the Australia and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS)
