EDC, 4 Milner St, Hindmarsh SA 5007

In this workshop Jackie will introduce participants to the basic foundations of Gestalt Therapy including the commitment to clinical phenomenology, field theory and existential dialogue: foundations that are deeply relational. Taking a Gestalt approach to therapy requires us, as therapist to explore and understand how we show up in the therapy room, at an embodied level, as Gestalt theory predicts that the quality of our presence will have an impact on what can be explored in the therapeutic process.  Jackie will then discuss how she links her back ground in Gestalt therapy with her interest in attachment theory. This will be explored experientially within the group.
Members: $55
Students: $45
Non-members: $70

Afternoon tea will be provided.

For PACFA Registrants, the course counts as 3.5 hours of Category A CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

Dr Jackie Amos

Dr Jackie Amos is a Child and Adolescent psychiatrist and Gestalt psychotherapist working for Centacare in the Children’s Services Unit.  Her work is informed by her doctoral research in which she developed clinically informative models of intergenerational child maltreatment. These models have been used to identify key objectives of treatment for families where the care and protection of the children is compromised, and to develop in depth hypotheses about the mechanisms of action of a novel, and effective dyadic psychotherapy, Parallel Parent and Child Therapy.
