PACFA Members Clinical and Provisional can apply to take leave from the PACFA register for up to 2 years. You must contact the PACFA Office and advise them of the period that you planning to go on leave and the reason for taking leave from the register.

While 'on leave' you become a PACFA Member with non-practising status. While on leave, you are not required to meet the annual renewal requirements. However, you are expected to have undertaken the required supervision and professional development for the part of the year before you commenced leave or, alternatively, to complete these requirements prior to the first renewal period after you return from leave.

When going on leave, you should notify your insurer that you are on leave from practice and that you require your insurance policy to provide 'run-off' cover. If you fail to do so, you will lose your insurance cover while you are on leave.

Once you apply to go on leave, you will not display on the Find A Therapist search engine.

To return from leave, please notify the PACFA Office in writing. You will need to ensure you meet the requirements to recommence your membership as detailed in the Leave of Absence Policy.
