PACJA Release – Psychotherapy and Counselling During and After COVID-19: Practical, Political, Philosophical, and Cultural Considerations

PACFA’s peer reviewed journal, the Psychotherapy and Counselling Journal of Australia (PACJA), has published a Special Issue on Psychotherapy and Counselling During and After COVID-19: Practical, Political, Philosophical, and Cultural Considerations, which was co-edited by Prof. Keith Tudor (Auckland University of Technology) and Dr. Rhys Price-Robertson (PACJA Editor).

This special issue covers various aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic, from practical considerations following the rapid move to online therapies, to broader explorations of the political, philosophical, and cultural implications of this unique global event for psychotherapists and counsellors. The issue includes contribution from Aotearoa New Zealand, Malaysia, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United States, making it a truly international issue, which is, of course, reflective of the topic.

Some titles in the special issue include:

  • Indigenous psychotherapy, COVID-19, and the online space: Yarning about challenges and opportunities;
  • Zoom, embodiment, and the analytic third;
  • Online couple therapy: Reflections from reluctant converts; and,
  • COVID-19’s nudge to modernise: An opportunity to reconsider telehealth and counselling placements.
