As many members heard at our Member Forum on 5 April, PACFA is now offering free membership to students of counselling and psychotherapy.
As part of our commitment to nurturing new counsellors and psychotherapists embarking on this rewarding and much-needed profession, we provide student members with:
- access to free webinars and discounted professional development provided by our expert community of members
- free membership of one of our PACFA Colleges for networking and information-sharing
- joining a community of highly skilled practitioners
- monthly E-news with latest developments in the counselling and psychotherapy sector.
Graduates of courses that meet the PACFA Training Standards receive a 25% discount on their first year of membership if they apply for membership within 2 years of graduating, to support early career counsellors and psychotherapists as they build their client base and experience.
These early career members are also eligible to use one of PACFA’s exclusive registered titles – Certified Practising Counsellor – and will receive a digital badge displaying this title.
Since announcing our free student membership, we have welcomed hundreds of new student members to PACFA, and look forward to welcoming more students to Australia’s premier peak body for counselling and psychotherapy.

If you are a member who works in an education setting, please encourage your students to visit our website to apply for their free membership and download our student pack, which contains a full list of student membership benefits. You can also download and distribute our A4 and A5 posters to your network and print out a copy for your student noticeboard.
