About me

My practice
‘Creative Interventions’ adopt integrative, human-centric psychotherapy methods to support participants in developing an awareness, language and ability to express authentically, meaningfully and safely.

Unlike historical terms referencing ‘interventions’ to ‘fix’ or ‘change’, ‘Creative Interventions’ references the capacity building opportunities in early childhood development, the trajectory influence of preventative healthcare, and the significant capacity for impact that is created by addressing and integrating stressful and traumatic experiences, episodes of change, grief, loss and bereavement within the safety and support of a compassionate, person-centric therapeutic relationship.

Words aren’t for everyone, yet language, expression and communication can be developed, understood and expressed in many forms.

Creative therapies enable participants to find a language for that which cannot be spoken, embody our selves authentically, and counterbalance experiences of trauma and grief with experience of integration and growth.

‘Creative Interventions’ has grounded beginnings in supporting the varied, human responses to experiences of trauma and grief, using creative problem-solving to help navigate relationships within ourselves and with others, the unrivalled capacity to support people experiencing complex and critical incidences, and the unique nature of military and emergency services for both individuals and families.

The tangible, tactile, experiential, rhythmical, foundational, expressive, and universal yet uniquely personalised nature of the arts, combined with the therapeutic expertise to approach, witness and heal through metaphor, ritual, meaning-making and embodiment, is the specialisation of the creative psychotherapy modalities offered by the art therapists at ‘Creative Interventions’.

Healing happens when permission, authenticity, autonomy, vulnerability and safety intersect. We know this through lived experience, professional humility and expertise in collaborative codesign in co-existing human-centric and evidenced-based practices.
