My practice
Wendy EVELEIGH has been practicing in the therapy field since 1994, and is a Registered Clinical Psychotherapist, Mental Health Practitioner, and Clinical Supervisor registered with Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA - 21515). Wendy is a clinical member of the Australian & New Zealand Mental Health Association (ANZMHA), the Australasian Association of Supervisors (AAOS), and a full member of EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA). Wendy is a clinical member of Grief Australia, and a Certified Bereavement Practitioner (CBP), with the Australian Centre for Grief & Bereavement. Wendy is recognised as an accredited Griefline counsellor & is qualified to provide Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy (PGDT).

Wendy is a trauma-informed professional, who has trained comprehensively in the field of trauma, and grief. These trainings include Somatic Experiencing ® Practitioner (SEP) (Level 3), NeuroAffective Relational Model ® (NARM) Master Therapist (Level 3), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy ® (SP) (Level 2), and Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy ® (PACT) (Level 2). Other trainings completed include: Traumatic Stress Studies Certificate Program (Bessel van der Kolk), Complex Trauma Treatment Training (Levels 1-4) (Janina Fisher), The Rhythm of Regulation – Polyvagal Theory (Foundation 1) (Deb Dana), Dynamic Attachment Re-Patterning experience (DARe Levels 1-4) (Diane Poole Heller), Voice Dialogue (Level 3) (Ana Barner Consulting), Internal Family Systems – Online Program (IFS Faculty), Sandplay Therapy & Symbol Work (Patricia Nolan), and Bereavement Counselling; and Working with Bereaved/Dying Adults (Mal & Diane McKissock).

Wendy also completed the Grof Transpersonal Psychology & Holotropic Breathwork® Certification program with Stan Grof, Tav Sparks, and Faculty in 2009, and since 2010 has worked on staff for Grof Holotropic Breathwork® modules in Australia.

Since 1994, Wendy has worked in Family Support Services, Crisis Intervention Agencies, Court Support programs, and has been employed by the Attorney General’s Department as an accredited mediator with Northern Region Community Justice Centre. Between 2011-2022, Wendy was employed as a specialist counsellor in NSW Health with Drug & Alcohol Clinical Services. Although she has worked part-time in her private practice since 2008, Wendy now maintains a full-time private practice at LIFE MATTERS Counselling & Psychotherapy Centre.
