About me

My practice
My curiosity about why we are, as well as what we are, motivates endless study and research, all with the aim of living a more rewarding life and being a more valuable therapist. I consider the work of Carl Rogers (1902-1987), a founder of humanistic psychology, fundamental to my practice. Rogers’ theoretical framework around change and human actualisation, put plainly, moving from stress and anxiety toward a fulfilling, meaningful life, is the outcome of a successful therapeutic alliance. Essential to this, Stephen Porges’ work on Polyvagal Theory outlines the necessary elements for positive change to occur, that is, the therapeutic relationship is embedded in safety and trust.
