About me

My practice
Allison (she/they) is a warm and empathetic counsellor with extensive experience in community services, specialising in individuals aged 14 to 65. With a profound understanding of various mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASPD, PTSD, BPAD, and BPD, Allison provides a person-centred and neurodiversity affirming therapeutic space to assist clients in navigating their thoughts and emotions throughout life's challenges. Their expertise also extends to addressing drug and alcohol issues, cognitive impairment impairing day-to-day functioning, the development of healthy communication skills within relationships, living with chronic pain, and adjustment issues around transition periods such as leaving school and migration.

Allison's trauma-informed, strengths-based approach is based upon the idea that every individual has the capacity to learn, grow, and move towards greater wellbeing and lasting positive change. Allison ensures each individual receives personalised care by honouring their unique experiences and needs, and collaborating with them towards their self-identified goals. They draw on evidence-based approaches such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and other modalities so that clients develop helpful and practical skills that they can use to increase their overall sense of wellbeing. With a commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment, Allison walks alongside clients as they commence the journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth.
