About me

My practice
Yonglong (Morty) is a ACA-registered counsellor with a passion for supporting individuals and couples facing a variety of challenges, including substance dependency recovery, addiction support, parent coaching, couple challenges and general mental health. With a culturally sensitive, person-centred approach, Yonglong (Morty) provides bilingual counselling services in English and Mandarin to adolescents, young adults, and adults aged 18–60.

Yonglong (Morty) has worked extensively with clients facing addiction recovery, family dynamics, cultural transitions, and personal identity concerns. This diverse expertise allows Yonglong (Morty) to tailor therapeutic interventions, drawing on methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and the Gottman Method for couples.

When working with substance dependency recovery, Yonglong (Morty) integrates mindfulness-based interventions, narrative therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support clients in managing dependency, withdrawal, and relapse prevention. For couples, Yonglong (Morty) offers tools to navigate communication barriers and foster intimacy. Additionally, Yonglong (Morty) provides support for students and young professionals adjusting to academic and cultural pressures, offering a safe space to explore identity, manage stress, and build resilience. As a proud LGBTQIA+ ally, Yonglong (Morty) ensures that all clients feel seen, understood, and respected.

"Seeking help and sharing one’s story is an act of courage and an important step toward meaningful change. I genuinely encourage you to acknowledge the effort you've already made and invite you to gently ask yourself, “How am I feeling right now?” Slowing down to listen to your inner voice can open doors to self-discovery and transformation. I hope to be a guiding light in your journey, helping you uncover the vibrant, empowered version of yourself.
