About me

My practice
Through my practice, Phoenix Therapy & Inclusion, I offer an integrative, trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming counselling service. My service promotes positive transformation, empowerment and healing at both individual and systemic levels. With a strong focus on equity and inclusion, I offer support through Clinical Counselling, advocacy, psychoeducation, and policy advice. I also offer NDIS Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching services.

My practice incorporates an empathic and holistic ‘biopsychosocial approach’ to counselling, recognising the interplay between biological, psychological, and social factors and their influence on mental health and well-being.

The creation of Phoenix Therapy & Inclusion represents a natural progression and integration of my employment experience, post-graduate studies in Counselling and Psychology and personal interests. This includes wide-ranging experience in: public-sector policy development and project management across diverse human services portfolios; Parliamentary research; Conciliation in the areas of discrimination; Advocacy; Clinical Counselling; and NDIS Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching.

My lived experience as a carer of neurodivergent family members has informed my current work as a Counsellor and Advocate and as a provider of NDIS services, including for children and families. My experience has included navigating the interface between the Health, Education, and NDIS systems; managing the complex process of early diagnoses, early intervention, NDIS application, approval, planning and review processes; identifying and establishing therapeutic supports; and identifying and supporting the transition to appropriate education settings.

My clinical practice is underpinned by tertiary qualifications which include: Master of Social Science (Counselling Studies); Graduate Diploma in Psychology; and Bachelor of Arts. I am also currently enrolled in a Master of Autism and Neurodivergent Studies degree to further inform my current work.

My professional interests include working therapeutically with children and families and advocating for their support and inclusion needs, carer wellbeing, using trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming approaches, integration of creative therapies, and holistic psychosocial recovery.

I offer individual and family counselling and enjoy working collaboratively with other therapists to help meet client goals.
