My practice
Sophie is a psychotherapist and counsellor who brings a warm and empathetic energy to each session with the goal to create a safe and non-judgemental space for individuals to feel heard.
Sophie believes that each client should be treated individually with a holistic approach that is tailored to the client’s needs, wants and overall therapeutic goal to sustain a fulfilling life.
Sophie works with clients to promote and support personal growth through utilising interpersonal frameworks, bringing awareness to one’s emotions, behaviours and triggers. Throughout this process, Sophie can support you to work on attachment styles, communication styles, thinking patterns and coping skills.
Sophie currently works in private practice and in private hospital settings facilitating group therapy (addiction and mood based). Sophie is experienced in working with therapy modalities such as person-centred therapy, dialectical-behavioural therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, brief therapy, gestalt therapy, mindfulness based therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy and psycho-education.
Sophie has completed her bachelor in psychological science, advanced diploma in psychological science and her masters in counselling and psychotherapy. Sophie is registered as a certified practising therapist through Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
Sophie is passionate about working with individuals from all ages with concerns including addiction, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, trauma/PTSD, burnout, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem, adolescent issues, anger, trauma recovery, relationship issues and personality disorders.
