About me

My practice
Fiona is a qualified, warm, empathic counsellor who works collaboratively with clients to overcome various barriers in their lives, including breaking addictions, facing health challenges, improving relationships and overcoming personal challenges. She understands it takes courage to start therapy, so works gently to connect, human to human, offering safety, authenticity, and deep care for her clients. She balances the art of guiding clients, with knowing when to step out of the way and let their natural, innate capacity for growth and healing evolve.

For over a decade Fiona has been honoured to support clients in a range of settings, along with working in private practice. From youth mentoring, to holding the hand of those facing end of life in palliative/aged care, she’s walked beside clients in their raw early days of recovery from addiction and worked for the BlueKnot Foundation, National Centre for excellence in complex trauma, supporting sexual abuse survivors who bravely told their stories to the Royal Commission. She has granted wishes for terminally ill children and offered face to face/telephone crisis support for Lifeline.

Fiona’s breadth of professional experience enables her to skilfully and respectfully work with individuals, couples and adolescents with a wide range of challenges. She understands the prevalent struggle many have in curbing or ceasing alcohol consumption, and she has a deep passion for supporting women through health challenges such as cancer, fertility, and pregnancy/birth complications. She has expertise in addressing the tricky dynamics of step/blended families and understands the gravity of coercive control and domestic violence/abuse.

With a trauma-informed lenses, Fiona tailors to the clients by blending various counselling and psychotherapy modalities.

When life flips us off our axis two heads are better than one in reconfiguring a way forward; and that goes for hearts too! Fiona attunes to her clients with both ‘head and heart’ to help them achieve transformation and lasting outcomes.
