About me

My practice
I have been a psychotherapist for the past thirty years. I am trained in relationship, family and individual therapy and I have a particular interest in working with survivors of sexual, physical, emotional and psychological abuse. I use the framework of analytical psychology as the basis for my work.

Analytical psychology recognises that a person's experience of life has its genesis at a time before coping mechanisms are developed, before an independent sense of security and stability has had time to consolidate. It realises that the individual is deeply affected by the net of past experiences. These impact on the way in which present experiences are assimilated and how they affect present relationships and life choices.

I have experience in working with the following issues:

Anxiety
Return to work
Childhood abuse
Couple counselling
Depression
Drug and alcohol management
Eating disorders
Grief
Sexual abuse
Relationship
Trauma and its aftermath

I have worked as a psychotherapist in community, industry and government agencies, and have been in private practice for twenty years. Having returned to Australia at the end of 2019, I now practice privately from Newcomb, Geelong.
