About me

My practice
I have been working as a professional Counsellor for the past 20 years across a number of modalities, and with many differing client demographics. These include working with children, adolescents and parents; working in the area of domestic violence and victims of crime; working in the space of grief and loss; working with couples and dyads (mother and child/ren); and facilitating group therapy for perpertators of domestic violence, children and adolescents. I have also worked within the school environment and with children and young people within various organisational settings. One of my current roles is providing therapeutic group counselling to women diagnosed with incurable breast cancer.
I work predominately through the therapeutic lens of person-centred, attachment therapy, psychodynamic therapy and systems therapy, amongst others. It is from this base that I integrate a number of interventions and understandings from other modalities so as to provide an intergrative approach to clients and challenges.
I have been working as a Clinical Supervisor for the past 6 years, providing clinical supervision both privately to counsellors, and to Graduate Diploma and/or Master of Counselling students undertaking their course placement hours.
In addition, I currently lecture with Deakin University within their Graduate Diploma and Master of Counselling course and specialise in content around DFV and grief and loss.
I am enthusiastic about supporting students and counsellors to develop the knowledge and skills required to become successful counsellors and maintain the high standards of the profession itself.
