About me

My practice
Ria is an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor based on the Gold Coast, Australia. Her approach is rooted in warmth, compassion, and a deep attunement to her clients.

Her integrative approach is grounded in person-centred, trauma-focused, and somatic principles, with a particular interest in grief and loss, developmental trauma, identity and existentialism, and nervous system regulation.

With a background as a yoga teacher since 2020, Ria brings a strong foundation in body-based practices and mindfulness to her clinical work, alongside an evolving interest in experiential and process-oriented modalities. She values the therapeutic relationship as a space for co-regulation, presence, and transformation.

Ria draws on a variety of evidence-based modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psychodynamic-Interpersonal Therapy (PIT), Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Ecotherapy.

Ria brings warmth, depth, and a strong commitment to reflective practice, with a heartfelt intention to support individuals in navigating life’s challenges and reconnecting with themselves in meaningful and embodied ways.

Ria recognises the profound impact that early experiences have on how we relate to ourselves and others, and she creates a space where clients can feel safe to explore these dynamics. She sees the therapeutic relationship as a vital avenue for healing and transformation. Valuing the uniqueness of every client, she tailors her approach to each person and endeavours to foster meaningful and trusting connections.
