About me

My practice
My professional training as a health professional (dietitian) counsellor and gestalt psychotherapist have provided a solid foundation for working with people with a range of mental health issues and most significantly the spectrum of disordered eating. My doctoral research has centered the perspectives of the experiencing person of receiving treatment for an eating disorder and this has affirmed for me that people have within them the capacity for growth and healing and I can offer a supportive presence and guide people towards their own wisdom. I believe it is not what happens to us in this life, but in time, what meaning we can make from those significant and formative happenings. This first comes from deepening awareness of ourselves and our histories, to evoke self-understanding, compassion and acceptance as a pathway to freedom from struggles that are keeping us in old patterns that may no longer serve us.
