My practice
I am a counsellor with a background in nursing and physiotherapy, supporting individuals experiencing stress, overwhelm, and challenges in emotional regulation, relationships, and life direction.
My professional experience spans clinical, assessment, disability, and brain injury contexts, allowing me to understand how psychological, neurological, physical, and social factors interact in complex and often overlapping ways. This enables me to work with clients in a way that is both clinically informed and practically grounded.
I have a particular interest in supporting individuals who appear to be functioning well externally, yet experience internal pressure, emotional strain, or a persistent sense of feeling stuck or without direction.
I also bring both professional and lived experience in neurodiversity, which informs my understanding of how different cognitive styles, sensitivities, and processing patterns shape a person’s experiences, challenges, and strengths.
My approach is structured, insight-driven, and collaborative. In addition to providing a space for reflection, I work with clients to identify underlying patterns, develop clarity around their situation, and implement practical strategies that support meaningful and sustainable change.
I draw on counselling frameworks alongside structured approaches to support clients in regulating emotions, improving relationships, and building greater clarity, confidence, and direction in their lives.
In addition to my clinical training, I hold a degree in theology and have an understanding of spiritual and religious concerns. While my background includes Christian theology, I work respectfully with individuals from a range of faith traditions and can incorporate values-based or faith-informed perspectives where appropriate and guided by the client.
I also understand the impact of counselling not only from a professional perspective, but through lived experience. This informs a grounded, respectful, and authentic therapeutic stance.
I recognise that seeking support can be a significant step, particularly for individuals who are accustomed to managing challenges independently. My aim is to provide a considered, structured, and supportive environment where clients can begin to move forward with greater clarity and direction.
