My practice
With over 40 years of experience in healthcare, counselling, and psychotherapy, I bring a depth of understanding that comes from walking alongside people through some of life's most challenging and transformative experiences.
My professional journey began in nursing, where I worked across intensive care, cancer care, palliative and end-of-life services, refugee health, military health management, leadership, and community health. These experiences shaped my belief that healing occurs when people feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
Today, as a Clinical Counsellor, Psychotherapist, and Clinical Supervisor, I support adults, children, couples, families, and clinicians navigating trauma, grief, loss, life transitions, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, and the lasting impacts of adverse life experiences. I have particular experience working with victims of crime, cancer patients and their families, bereavement, childhood trauma, and those facing complex emotional challenges.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and evidence-informed. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities including trauma-focused therapies, narrative therapy, somatic approaches, mindfulness, attachment-informed practice, and cognitive behavioural therapies. Above all, I believe therapy is not about fixing people—it is about creating a safe space where people can reconnect with their strengths, make sense of their experiences, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.
Clients often tell me they appreciate my down-to-earth style, authenticity, and ability to combine professional expertise with genuine human connection. Whether we are exploring longstanding trauma, navigating grief, strengthening relationships, or simply trying to make sense of life's next chapter, my goal is to walk beside you with curiosity, respect, and hope.
I believe healing happens in relationship, growth occurs through understanding, and even in our most difficult moments, there is always the possibility of change.
