About me

My practice
At Counselling on the Coast Sarah Bergman provides counselling through the practice of Gestalt therapy for individuals, couples and families.

Gestalt Therapy focuses on the here and now of a client’s thoughts, feelings and situation, providing a holistic engagement with the nature of the human condition. It privileges experiential learning, human relating and believes strongly in the therapeutic relationship as a healing relationship. Recently Neuroscience discovered that a relationship with someone who can supply support and understanding reshapes a person’s neurological possibilities. That is, with the right supportive environment, change is possible.

Sarah Bergman has a Masters degree in Gestalt therapy and a Diploma of Applied Science (Community & Human Services) and is an Accredited member with the Psychotherapists and Counsellors Federation of Australia (PACFA).

As a an individual and marriage counselor Sarah Bergman understands that dealing with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, change of life events and stress can be difficult and may leave you feeling isolated, confused and alone. These thoughts and feelings can be overwhelming at times and this is when talking to a professional Counsellor or Psychotherapist can help.

Choosing a counsellor is a very personal decision and you may feel hesitant or anxious about attending counselling. For this reason Sarah provides a safe, private and confidential place for clients to explore their issues. Her private practice is conveniently located in Tweed Heads and she presently see’s clients from the Tweed Coast and Gold Coast. Sarah’s practice as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist is gentle and respectful, allowing the client the space they require to fully understand where they are at. As a Counsellor and Psychotherapist Sarah is holistic in her approach and her aim is to help clients increase self awareness, relieve confusion and experience self-acceptance.
