About me

My practice
Hello! My name is Ruth Edwards and I am a registered clinical counsellor with PACFA. I draw on many years of experience of working with clients who present with a broad range of mental health issues and life stressors, substance misuse and other addictions, grief and loss, relationship concerns, life transitions, and many other concerns. I offer a professional, empathetic, and compassionate online counselling space, aiming to empower and support clients to explore issues that are holding them back from fully enjoying life. Sometimes we get stuck in life, and it can be helpful to work through challenges and issues with a counsellor to identify areas that need extra support, and work towards making positive changes. Whilst I don't have a magic wand, I place a strong emphasis on the client/counsellor relationship and believe that issues can be worked through together to achieve long-lasting results.

I am also a registered clinical supervisor with the ACA (Australian Counselling Association - College of Supervisors), a member of the College of Counselling, and ARCAP.

All appointments are conducted online to minimise disruption to your schedule.

My availability is usually Monday to Thursday at varied times to suit your schedule.

As a clinical supervisor (with the ACA College of Supervisors), I provide both individual and group supervision for new graduates and experienced counsellors. I am very experienced in supervising counsellors (both ACA and PACFA registrants) from a diverse range of settings, and have previously been part of the clinical supervision team at The University of Queensland, and now at ACAP University (Associate Lecturer/Clinical Supervisor - Masters of Counselling & Psychotherapy program). I aim to support supervisees at all stages of their professional counselling career.
