About me

My practice
My interest in the field started as a young adult who worked with young people and found them always asking for my advice. When I experienced my own challenges in my life, I realised the importance of supportive professional help and went on to train as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist.

My professional training began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling and Human Change at the Jansen Newman Institute in Sydney. This increased my passion towards understanding how we think, what we feel, and why we behave the way we do. Since then, I have had the privilege of assisting many people experiencing challenges.

After graduation, I worked in addiction and facilitated various groups (including sober driver, substance abuse, anger courses).

I then moved to working in schools and with young people, families, teachers and communities as a part of a collaborative team.

In 2017, I completed my Masters in social work and continued my passion for increasing mental health awareness by becoming a trained facilitator in youth and teen mental health first aid.

More recently I have taken on a therapy dog and incorporating him into my daily work. you can see more of this on his instagram page #ferris_therapydog

In 2024 I completed my accreditation as a mental health social worker and now work as a team leader for YOURTOWN helping support other Counsellors and their work with Young people.

I have been so blessed to have been allowed into the lives of so many young people, families and individuals over the past 18yrs. I have been privileged to help plant seeds and help them grow and flourish as they begin to heal and smile again. The counselling process is what makes this possible and why I love the job that I do.

Looking forward to meeting you soon.
