About me

My practice
I am a qualified Psychotherapist, Youth Worker , Social Worker and Family Therapist. I am employed as a Mental Health Clinician with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) 3 days a week. I work 2 days a week in private practice.
I have twenty-nine years of experience working with children, families, couples and individuals to support understanding, insight, connection, growth and wellbeing. This includes:
 Currently providing EAP counselling and Victims of Crime counselling to adults, couples and families
 4 years working in family violence providing child adolescent counselling and family therapy to victims and perputrators;
 3 years working in post separation services with parents and children in high conflict, as a Supervisor at Albury Children’s Contact Service;
 3 years as a school counsellor within the education system;
 5 years project work with:
o Office of Housing and Communities;
o developing a groupwork programme for parents with children who had experienced trauma;
 6 years case management in the homelessness sector; within the reconnect program and the Supported Accommodation and Youth Housing program.
 7 years youth worker alternative education sector at the Court House Youth Centre, Outdoor incorporated , Patterson Project and Royal life Saving Society LEAP program providing outdoor therapy and life skills to clients.

I have a vast amount of experience within many sectors working with a variety of clients of various ages groups, cultures, genders and presenting issues. I hold the view that our relationships with others, especially our families, impact significantly on our capacity to grow and heal. I incorporate creative expression within my sessions as required working with creativity, curiosity and compassion . I have the capacity to work individually and relationally with clients of all ages assisting clients to resolve their presenting psychological problems, that can be associated with social and other environmental problems and improve their quality of life. I recognise the broader implications of an individual having a mental illness and the impact that this can have on friends, family, work and education. Kristina uses her clinical training and experience as a family therapist , social worker, youth worker and psychotherapist to incorporate methods such as EMDR, meditation, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, sensory integration, sand play, outdoor therapy and expressive therapies within her work
