About me

My practice
My name is Meena, and I am a PACFA Certified Practising Registrant, Certified Practising Counsellor; an Academic Librarian and a Pilates instructor; passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, finding meaning and purpose.

My own journey has shaped who I am as a counsellor. Born in Bombay, raised in the vibrant city of Al-Ain in the UAE, and settling in Melbourne at the age of 15, I’ve experienced the complexities of adapting to new environments and cultures. These experiences instilled in me an open-minded and gentle approach to life, as well as a deep appreciation for diversity and resilience.

I’ve also faced significant personal challenges, including but not limited to divorce, vicarious grief, and bullying. These experiences, while difficult, helped me grow, heal, and ultimately fueled my passion for supporting others through their struggles. Just as studying counselling helped me navigate those painful moments, I believe I can help you find hope, healing, and a path forward.

I’m bilingual in Hindi and English, and I have beginner-level fluency in Marathi and Bengali, which allows me to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

At Core Centered Counselling, the heart of my practice is about guiding you on a transformative journey toward greater self-awareness, resilience, and well-being.
I blend evidence-based therapeutic approaches—like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)—with the mind-body connection fostered through somatic workouts.. This unique combination provides a holistic path to healing and growth, empowering you to reconnect with yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or seeking balance, my person-centered approach ensures that your journey is guided by your individual needs, strengths, and values. Together, we’ll create a supportive space where you can explore your inner world, build resilience, and discover practical strategies for change.
Core Centered Counselling is more than a therapeutic space—it’s a place to trust your journey, embrace change, and move toward the life you envision. Let’s work together to restore your sense of alignment and well-being, one step and one session at a time.
