About me

My practice
Nia’s therapeutic practice is informed by her academic qualifications (Bachelor of Integrative Psychotherapy,Advanced Clinical Training in Relational Gestalt Psychotherapy,Graduate Certificate in Experiential & Creative Arts Practice,Advanced Diploma of Transpersonal Counselling) and life experience. Her interest in psychotherapy began years ago as she explored and unpacked her own life’s journey.
When she found a therapist who could provide a safe, dependable, empathetic and attuned presence, it was life changing. She knows how fundamental it is to find understanding, solace and clarity in a therapeutic relationship. In this way Nia’s practice is inspired and informed by her own healing journey.

Nia’s approach is inclusive of eastern and western philosophy. She is committed to practices that don’t separate mind from the body or the individual from their environment, recognizing that people are always shaped by their environment and culture. She has a strong understanding of the connection between intergenerational trauma and the here and now experience of our lives. Theses may present in symptoms such as stress, anxiety, depression, addiction or simply emotions or patterns of behavior that you feel you can’t control.
She explores what underlies many people’s experiences and the idea that trauma can be passed down from one generation to the next. Raising awareness is an important step toward meaningful change and an understanding of who you are and your life’s story and the situations that give rise to it.
Therapy is tailored to affirm and understand each individuals needs with a multi layered approach as there are many variables to consider in the complexity of a therapeutic process. Her work is always in the service of the potential, transformation and change her clients may seek so they can live a life that is authentic to them.
