About me

My practice
If you are looking to find a way back to yourself and to reconnect with the parts of your life that feel out of reach, you have come to the right place. Whether you find yourself struggling with trauma, anxiety and depression, chronic illness, or pain, a gentle, yet powerful combination of talk therapy, somatic experiencing and body work with Kerrie can help you find joy again.
Kerrie personally connects with her client’s trauma, in part by drawing from her lived family experiences with ADHD, drug and alcohol addiction, physical disability, chronic health issues, anxiety and depression. Over the years she has witnessed and experienced the pain and suffering life can bring and believes that although some situations may not change, we can change the way we take care of our own health and emotions and take steps to live our best lives.
Kerrie brings to her practice over 25 years supporting people with disabilities or mental illnesses and their families in the community care space. Given her familial and professional background, Kerrie has a special interest in working with individuals with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, POTS, and the Carers and family members of people with disabilities or mental illness.
Kerrie earned a graduate diploma in counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology in addition to her bachelor of education in habilitation from the Australian Catholic University. She has certifications as a somatic experiencing practitioner from Somatic Experiencing Australia, in non-violent communication from the Communication Group and in motivational interviewing from the Mental Health Coordinating Council.
When she isn’t working with clients, you can find Kerrie spending time with her family, bushwalking with her husband, travelling, ocean swimming, and dancing.
