About me

My practice
Matt is a counsellor and clinical educator with over seven years of experience supporting adults and adolescents across community and outpatient mental health settings. His approach is collaborative, direct, and grounded in authenticity — with a strong emphasis on meeting clients where they are at, and guiding them alongside at their own pace, both literally and figuratively.

As a queer, male-identifying counsellor with lived experience of neurodivergence, chronic illness, and mental health challenges, Matt brings a depth of understanding and compassion to his work. He's particularly passionate about making therapy feel accessible, real, and responsive — not performative or prescriptive.

Matt's practice draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including:

Cognitive Therapy (CT), CBT, and ACT
Exposure therapy for anxiety, social anxiety, and agoraphobia
Trauma stabilisation and psychoeducation for single instance PTSD
Mindfulness and guided meditation
Motivational Interviewing for behavioural change
Transactional Analysis for Interpersonal Dynamics
Walk and Talk Therapy
