About me

My practice
My name is Tess, I am a compassionate and qualified counsellor and psychotherapist located in the Australian Capital Territory with over 7 years experience. I am a graduate of the University of Canberra with a Graduate Diploma in Community Counselling and I'm a member the Pschotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and Australia Mental Health Academy.I am committed to supporting clients to develop strategies to manage lifes challenges with a focus on health and well being .I use a person centred approach , tailoring sessions to each clients unique needs to provide maximum benefit and forge a therapeutic relationship .

I draw my style from a range of therapeutic methods including Adlerian/Individual Psychology, Solution-Focused Therapy, ACT and Crisis Interventions .I have a special interest in working with victim survivors of domestic and family violence around their safety and rebuilding their sense of self . I have over 6 years experience working with victims of domestic and family violence .

I am a life long learner and I keep myself up to date with the latest thinking in counselling and psychotherapy. Beyond counselling, I keep myself busy catching up with friends, going on long walks, hiking and dancing.
