My practice
Leyna is a Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor; she works with individuals, couples, families and other mental health professionals. Leyna is a warm, compassionate and empathic clinician. She welcomes people from all backgrounds, culture, gender, sexuality, age and ability. She values each individual’s uniqueness and is experienced in supporting people presenting with varied needs and life experiences.

Leyna has extensive experience in working with those impacted by trauma, grief and loss and significant life changes, having worked in the field of Mental Health, Addiction, Family Violence, Sexual Violence and Grief and Bereavement over the past 11 years.

Leyna’s approach is underpinned by the core principles of the Person-Centred approach. She works with people to establish helpful and meaningful ways to grow individually and within their relationships. Her approach can include mindfulness, somatic practices and creative work.

Leyna studied and worked in the UK before migrating to Australia in 2012, after which time she has continued to work in the community and private sector as a Counsellor, Team Leader, Supervisor and Therapeutic Worker.

Outside of work, Leyna practices yoga and meditation and highly values the emotional and physical benefits of regular practice. Furthermore she is interested in exploring how yoga and meditation can assist with psychological difficulties.
