About me

My practice
Tay MacPhee is a compassionate and passion-filled counsellor seeking to support clients in developing their skills, reaching their goals, and improving their mental health.

Her passion for helping others began during her early teenage years when her family fostered two girls who would become vital family members and began her journey toward counselling.

Tay began her studies in 2016 at Christian Heritage College with a launch program that allowed her to complete two Bachelor of Human Services (Major in Human Behaviour) units while in high school. Once completing her undergraduate degree (2016 to 2020), she was determined to begin her Master of Counselling (Specialisation in Trauma and Children & Adolescents) (2021 to 2023). Tay has remained focused and dedicated to her studies, seeking to learn and develop her skills to be the best counsellor through professional development, supervision, mentoring, and counselling.

Tay continued developing her passion for helping others when she became a receptionist at an allied health practice dedicated to providing a transdisciplinary approach that supports clients through psychology, occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy, and allied health assistance.
By beginning at the front desk, Tay continued to develop her knowledge about different approaches to improvement and further awareness of disability and its impact on an individual's and their family's life.

Tay is passionate about working with children and teenagers seeking support that is potentially different from traditional talk-based therapy. Her approach to counselling can build a trusting relationship that allows her clients to feel seen, heard, and safe to share. Her interest in creative, expressive therapy approaches allows her clients to engage in therapy that is individualised for them and is about what will work best for them to achieve their goals and build their skills.

Tay is compassionate, warm-hearted, and bubbly, allowing her to connect with clients to build soft and comforting relationships.

Tay is excited to continue to develop her skills and knowledge within a school-based counselling role and hopes to foster further support and guidance for students to engage in their education and be comfortable in growing into who they are meant to be!

In Tay’s free time she loves to spend time with her family, friends and animals. If she is not with horses, you’ll find her off track 4WD, camping or searching for the next animal to befriend!
