Tuning Relationships with Music - Recording
PACFA Webinar Recordings
PACFA Victoria Branch: Introduction to a clinical intervention with traumatised parent-child dyads – Tuning Relationships with Music
Tuning Relationships with Music® is a systemic music-based intervention that was developed by Dr Vivienne Colegrove for parents and their adolescents who have high levels of conflict in their relationship, where the parent has experienced abuse or neglect in childhood. TRM was developed as the result of a PhD research project at the University of Melbourne. TRM has established initial evidence that it is effective compared with other approaches (Colegrove, V. M., Havighurst, S. S., Kehoe, C. E., & Jacobsen, S. (2018). Pilot randomised controlled trial of Tuning Relationships with Music™: Intervention for parents with a trauma history and their adolescent. Child Abuse and Neglect, 79C, 259-268. https//doi:10.1016/j.chiabu.2018.02.017)

Presented by: Dr Vivienne Colegrove
Vivienne is a family therapist and relationship counsellor in Eltham, Melbourne, with a particular interest in working with individuals, couples and families where a history of traumatic experiences is affecting their ability to have the relationships they would like. She recently completed her PhD at Mindful: Centre for Training and Research in Developmental Health, University of Melbourne, where she developed and tested a new therapeutic intervention – Tuning Relationships with Music® (TRM) for parents and adolescents affected by previous trauma. She currently offers training and supervision to professionals working with parents and families in how to deliver TRM. Vivienne also facilitates the evidence-based parenting programs Tuning in to Kids and Tuning in to Teens as part of ongoing research trials that are conducted through Mindful: University of Melbourne.
