Implicit in the significance of philosophy to therapeutic practice and therapy education are responsibility, relationship and curiosity.
In this webinar you will be invited to:
- Inquire into how You make meaning in Your being-in-the world;
- Ask what values and beliefs flow into and through those meanings;
- Reflect on how these meanings might have ontological relevance in therapeutic relationships, self-reflection and enaction.
There will be opportunities for reflection on the relevance of the arts, literature and culture to your philosophy of practice.
Breakout rooms will provide brief opportunities for sharing.
Readings will be made available before the webinar.
PRESENTER:
Dr. Andrea Breen PhD is a psychotherapist/creative arts therapist, supervisor and educator living in Hobart. She draws on experience from working in refugee health, family therapy, relationship therapy, play therapy, child-inclusive mediation, trauma survival, family violence, EAP and aged care. She is currently in private practice and teaches in the Therapeutic Arts Practice program for the MIECAT Institute; she has taught English Studies, Gender Studies, Environmental Literature and Counselling at the University of Tasmania and counselling at Tabor College and Latrobe. She is also a writer and sound artist.
