PACFA Somatic Psychotherapy College Webinar September

Meandering in the forest – A case study of the beginnings of two journeys.

12/9/20 2:00pm-4:00pm AEST (check your timezone)

In this paper, the presenter explores the workings of the therapeutic relationship created between twin boys and himself while working with them in a group, together and separately. He considers the underpinning theories of his approach (Attachment Theory and Contemporary Trauma Theory with strong consideration of the Emotional Intelligence competencies), and his observations and results and explores the question of how best to support their passage in an ambiguous existence.

Presenter: Peter McKay

Peter McKay is a Somatic Psychotherapist with a private practice in the Melbourne CBD and Hampton.  Peter became interested in contemporary trauma theory, Self Psychology and dynamic systems theory while studying at the Australian College of Contemporary Somatic Psychotherapy and he uses these to inform the way he works with individuals and groups. In addition to seeing private clients he co-facilitates workshops on emotionally intelligent parenting, social and emotional learning for children and the mind, body, gut connection.
