Fostering collaboration in psychotherapy training

17 April 2024

On Thursday 28 March, the Association of Transpersonal and Experiential Psychotherapists (ATEP) met with representatives from the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia for a productive discussion on training and collaboration within the psychotherapy profession in Australia.

The ATEP delegation included President Isabelle Rogers, and Director of Training Martha Calhoun, who is also a member of the College of Psychotherapy Leadership Group (CoP LG). PACFA was represented by CEO Johanna de Wever and CoP LG Convenor Ernst Meyer.

Discussions centered around the importance of ATEP's training programs and the continued development of PACFA's College of Psychotherapy. Both parties expressed a commitment to working together to ensure a strong future for the psychotherapy profession in Australia.

"The meeting was a positive step forward," said Johanna de Wever. "We look forward to continuing our collaboration with ATEP to ensure high-quality training and support for psychotherapists across the country."
