New Education Program Accreditation Committee (EPAC) Chair

Counsellor, psychotherapist, and educator Biliana Dearly has been appointed as the Chair of PACFA's Education Program Accreditation Committee (EPAC).

EPAC is responsible for PACFA’s accreditation of education and training programs in psychotherapy and counselling. This includes overseeing applications, reviewing and developing guidelines, policies, and procedures, and providing expert advice on PACFA’s course accreditation requirements and process.

Biliana brings years of practice and education experience to her new role as Chair. She is a counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice in Melbourne with a humanistic, experiential, process-oriented approach and extensive experience in working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and a range of mental health and relational problems across the life span.

Biliana is an accredited supervisor, a clinical member of PACFA, and a senior lecturer in the Masters of Counselling and Psychotherapy at Cairnmillar Institute in Melbourne. She has worked as a lecturer in counselling and psychotherapy undergraduate and postgraduate programs since 2010. She coordinated and developed the counselling and psychotherapy program and has led the team at the Cairnmillar Institute over the past four years.

She is an internationally certified Focusing-oriented therapist and trainer. As a Certifying Coordinator for The International Focusing Institute in New York, she has designed and taught in-depth training in Focusing-Oriented Experiential Therapy.

Biliana brings passion for development, relational depth, social responsibility, and change. She has volunteered as a member of EPAC since June 2020, and PACFA is thrilled that she is stepping up into the Chair position.

PACFA members are invited to volunteer on either the EPAC Committee or accreditation panels. If you are interested in joining the EPAC Committee, fill in our expression of interest form. If you would like to volunteer on future panels, email Kim Smythe, Operations Manager at [email protected].
