PACFA members and the NDIS

PACFA is partnering with two National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) providers to provide low-cost webinars for members on working in this area.

All PACFA Provisional and Clinical members with government accredited qualifications at AQF levels 7, 8 and 9 (Bachelor, Graduate Diploma, or Masters) are eligible to become NDIS providers in all states and territories.

It’s part of PACFA’s ongoing advocacy for better recognition of counsellors and psychotherapists by both government and non-government organisations.

Following our successful webinar in April this year on demystifying the NDIS - which looked at the logistical side of applying to be an NDIS provider and is now available for free to all members - we now want to showcase the different types of work our members are doing and can do in this space.

On Wednesday 13 October 2021 PACFA is hosting a webinar with relationships, sexuality, and disability counsellor Liz Dore. Liz will be speaking on providing therapy to people with disabilities through practical activities to support friendship and relationship skills development; discussions about sexuality and rights; using disability related resources; and services available to support clients with disabilities.

On Thursday 28 October 2021 PACFA is running a webinar with the Centre for Disability Employment Research and Practice. The COO, Director, and an employment counsellor will be speaking about practising as a disability employment counsellor under the NDIS from three different perspectives.
